Milestone Buildings of the 20th Century

1960-1969

1966
Vehicle Assembly Building
Cape Kennedy, FL

Still the World's largest building! The building is an assembly plant and "garage" for space shuttles. You could easily fit a 40-story skyscraper through the entry doors of this building, which are 500 feet high and 70 feet wide. To keep the energy bills down, only the zones where people work are heated or cooled.
