The families in this first large-scale "sustainable community" have it all. They grow fresh fruits and vegetables in shared gardens. They can walk just about anywhere on safe pedestrian paths. Homes use passive solar energy. The streets are lined with trees for lots of shade. Storm water is handled by a surface drainage system that acts like a natural stream bed.
