Native American Teepee
America's "first mobile home" was made of wood and animal skins. It was set up with its back to the prevailing wind and a door in the front. Whenever a tribe moved to a new place, they set up the tepees according to the same circular community plan every time. As time went on, pioneers often borrowed architectural styles from other cultures, while still keeping the best ideas of American natives.
